The Lovers of the Arctic Circle

  1. I'm proud of myself. I actually watched both films before the end of the month. Go me!

Anyways, I really liked this movie, but I hated the ending! Talk about a movie not to watch when you're feeling down. I think it was one of those rare times when I wanted a Hollywood ending. Or maybe it's my desire for the coincidences in life to pay off in the end.

What I liked most about this movie was that all the coincidences weren't natural. They never felt forced or thrown in there.
I think everything felt natural and it flowed nicely.

I liked the acting, again natural.
I also liked the switching of perspectives. It wasn't confusing, even if they went back in time a bit to get the other point of view.
There was just enough answers that you were satisfied, but you didn't have to know everything...like how the mom died.

    Which, heartbreaking scene.
However, that's when I started to dislike Ana's mom. The way she was being towards Otto bothered me. Sure he was a dick to his father, he husband, but dammit if he's not going through some shit.

But then again, I didn't feel all that sorry for Otto's father when Ana's mom left him. He left the mother so now it's his turn. You could argue that Otto's father had his own circle of pain.

Yeah, the only thing that really bothered me was that I wanted them to be together. Not the happily ever after that you end to get, more realistic tone, but something other than her death.
I guess it's true, love sucks.
