SOB: Shameful, Obnoxious, or Beastly

These are the movies we not only dislike, but the ones we loathe...and for good reason.

  1. I might as well add one for this page as well. There are so many I could talk about, most of them being movies that aren't suppose to be ranked highly anyway, Tokyo Drift anyone (yes, I actually watched this).

According to Netflicks, one of the Top 100 was 27 Dresses. Really, REALLY? That movie is horrible.

For one, I can't stand Katherine Heigl. I think she's a horrible actress, and she sucks at playing the romantic lead. She tries to be quirky, but it doesn't work. You're no Sandy!

I was offended by this movie. I hate love stories that have the poor single woman who tries to be strong and independent but really wants to be rescued. I think we should be focusing on woman role models who can be by themselves and are independent cause they want to be not because they have to, until they get a man. Especially when people are marrying later in life. That whole high school-college-the one-graduate-career-family ridiculous timeline can really mess with a girl's head.

Then, you have her finally sticking up for herself, granted it might not have been in the best way, but 5 seconds later she wants to hide in a corner and forget the whole thing and let people walk all over her again. We need strong females in pop culture! Not many young girls are reading Pride & Prejudice or watching Buffy, but they will watch a stupid rom-com.

Girls take bridesmaids seriously, and only the elite friends are chosen. So, if you were chosen, wouldn't you still have contact with these 27 people? Are you saying that once you get married your life before that goes down the drain? And who really has 27 best girl friends? I have only 10, and half of them are men!

The only redeeming part of this movie was James Marsden. Yes, he was a bitter douche, but he played it well and when you found out why you understand and sympathized with him.

I do have a guilty pleasure of rom-coms (like dance and sport movies), and sometimes they can be surprisingly good (Notting Hill, The Wedding Date, 2 Weeks Notice), but this one was really really bad.

  2. Opps. Forgot to put which one it was. I'd say it was Beastly. It was a horrible representation of what woman can become, or apparently are.
