Finally! I have to admit right off the bat...this wasn't one that I fell in love with. Not the way I have with other Almordovar films. I enjoyed it, I loved the characters and how they all became twisted into each others lives...But not one of his that made me speechless.
I do, however, want to watch Broken Embraces again to see if I can catch the connection. I, obviously, noticed the same apartment, though.
Man, Antonio Banderas was young! And his hair...No bueno.
I thought Lucia was an interesting character. Yeah, okay, she was crazy, but that's what kinda made her interesting. I loved her clothes. I think between Lucia, Pepa, and the lawyer (forgot her name) you have three versions of crazy over a guy. Ivan has had relations with all three, they are all three at different stages of that relationship: left, leaving, with. And like a typical man, he has no idea what he is exactly doing, or what he has done wrong.
I love how at the end he has no idea that he was almost killed cause he's a douche who left the mother of his kid. It's so infuriating how men can have this crazy effect on women, and have no idea. Ugh.
